Fair Appraisal About Us

About Us

We are a team of developers and designers who are passionate about helping homeowners save money on their property taxes.

Our Core Beliefs

You know more about your home and neighborhood than the local appraisal district.

Everyone should check to see if they are being over-appraised

Cost and time should not prevent you from appealing your property tax appraisal.

The property appraisal in your Notice of Appraisal is essentially the local government's "first offer." Don't accept it blindly, counter it.

Our Commitment

We strive to:

Leverage your local insights and our analytical skills to secure better deals than initial government appraisals.

Foster a community of informed homeowners through regular updates on market trends and policy changes affecting property taxes.

Share our passion for data analysis, making complex information accessible and actionable for you.

Together, we'll transform the property tax appraisal process!

Fair Appraisal Mike Villarreal

Mike Villarreal, PhD - Founder & CEO

Mike Villarreal brings together data science expertise and a deep commitment to public service. With a PhD in Public Policy, extensive quantitative research experience, and over 20 years working in Texas policy and governance, he's dedicated his career to making complex systems work fairly for everyday people. As a Texas State Representative, Mike created the state's longitudinal education and workforce data system, harnessing data to serve the public good. He also served on the House tax committee, where he gained firsthand knowledge of how state and local tax systems work—and passed legislation to make them more equitable. That same commitment to transparency and fairness drives Fair Appraisal Now, ensuring property owners have access to the analytical tools needed to challenge unfair appraisals. Fair Appraisal Now reflects Mike's core belief: technology can level the playing field, giving every property owner access to the same data-driven advocacy that was once available only to those who could afford expensive consultants.
